Early Sunday morning, Vice President Joe Biden is sworn into office in a the private ceremony in the main foyer of his official residence. He used a bible with a Celtic cross on the cover that has been in his family since 1893.
Later Biden joined the President for a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
Obama will also hold a low key swearing in at the White House Sunday.
The Constitution mandates that the president takes office January 20.
Biden along with President Barack Obama will repeat the oath of office Monday in the customary ceremony outside the the Capitol overlooking the National Mall.
