Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has appealed for calm after the violence witnessed in the capital on Sunday (December 23). Addressing the nation, Manmohan Singh called for peace and assured action against the rapists. He reasoned that while the anger against the brutal gangrape in Delhi is justified, 'violence will not take us anywhere'. Meanwhile, the BJP while reacting has said that the PM's appeal was ineffective and has demanded an all party meet to discuss the steps that need to be taken.
