Douma, a suburb of Damascus looks like a ghost town after a weekend of fighting throughout the Syrian capital, in this latest video posted to a social media website who content Reuters cannot independently verify.
Explosions rocked the city and plumes of ominous black smoke could be seen rising above suburbs .
The fact that the fighting has reached this level in the capital is a worrying sign to many ---- President Bashar al Assad's seat of power was for the most part untouched during the the first twelve months of the insurgency, so much so that some locals were skeptical that there was any fighting in Syria at all. These days however, the battle is on the doorstep.
