A United States Coast Guard official wins the Mega Millions lottery while he was away at sea.
Winning the lottery is every working soul’s dream. In a heartwarming report, a Virginia man recently had his dream come true.
The male, named Jason was thrilled to hold a Mega Millions check for $250,000.
He matched the first five numbers from an October 26th game, landing the second prize. It took Jason roughly 6 weeks to claim his money, as he works as a petty officer for the United States Coast Guard and he had been at sea during the drawing.
Jason chose his winning numbers by picking memorable family dates. He states “I’m still in shock. It hasn’t hit me yet.” He claims he is not quite sure what he will do with the money.
Earlier this year, another man landed a big jackpot. A 22-year-old from Hyannis whose girlfriend had broken up with him, won $30.5 million in the Massachusetts lottery.
Sandeep Singh, commonly called 'Sunny' worked two jobs to help support his mother and sister. He claimed he wanted to pay his mom's mortgage off with the winnings.
