Fusion-io Boosts Database and VM Performance with ioDrive2 and ioCache

Fusion-io debuted the ioDrive2 at Oracle Open World 2011. With 700,000 read IOPS, 900,000 write IOPS, and access latency of 15 microseconds the ioDrive2 is wicked fast. Capacities start at 365GB extending up to 2.4TB, which is sufficient for most database applications. One key feature is the ability to proactively monitor flash memory failures and retire bad flash cells to route around potential performance failures. The ioCache, coupled with ioTurbine provides performance enhancement for enterprise virtual machine configurations, including VMware VMotion. Here Jake Ludington talks with Gary Orenstein about these two products and how they can benefit your IT infrastructure.
