The BBC received 22 complaints after it was forced to suspend its live radio broadcast of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra's performance at Albert Hall because of constant disruptions by pro-Palestinian groups. The orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta was performing in the framework of the BBC proms. Some members of the audience were removed after they sang and interrupted the orchestra performance and held banners calling to Free Palestine. They were taken out of the hall by security guards. During a violin solo, other members of the audience scuffled with another pro-Palestinian group. The audience demanded the activists be removed from the hall but due to the constant disruptions the BBC decided to suspend the live Radio 3 broadcast and switch to a pre-recorded performance by the orchestra. A BBC spokeswoman said they regretted the incident, adding because of the constant disruptions during the performance a decision was made to take it off the air.
