In recent days there have been a number of reports pertaining to a deal currently in the making between Israel and Hamas. While Hamas officials have denied the reports, the release of a prominent West Bank Hamas leader Jamal Tawil last week raises questions as to whether there is any link between the reports and his freedom. Tawil was sentenced to six years of administrative detention, was involved in the Jerusalem suicide bomb attack in 2001 and headed a charity fund that paid money to the families of martyrs.
