Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), April 30, 2025 (ANI): After releasing from the House arrest, Andhra Pradesh Congress President YS Sharmila met the supporters gathered outside her residence after her house arrest. After police released her after house arrest, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Chief YS Sharmila questioned the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over placing her under house arrest and asked why a party leader who wants to do good for the public has not been arrested. Speaking to media she said, "While you and your alliance parties are doing injustice to the people of Andhra Pradesh—whether it be the Polavaram issue, the special status, or the Amaravati capital issue—we are fighting for the people. You have placed the Congress Chief of the state under house arrest. Why are you scared of arresting me? It has only been two days since Modi's tour, and the Andhra Pradesh Congress formed the Amaravati Capital Committee with six or seven members. The government is scared of this committee, which is tasked with researching and creating an action plan for the welfare of the people. Anything the committee decides will APCC Chief Sharmila be for the good of Andhra Pradesh."
