ಏಕರೂಪ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸಂಹಿತೆ (UCC) ಹೆಸರೇ ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಕಾನೂನು ಎಂದು ಅರ್ಥ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಮದುವೆ, ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತರಾಧಿಕಾರ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಧರ್ಮ ಆಧಾರಿತ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಕಾನೂನುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಜಾರಿಯಾದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಧರ್ಮದವರಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಕಾನೂನು ಅನ್ವಯ ಆಗಲಿದೆ.The Uniform Civil Code (UCC), as the name suggests, means a single law for all citizens of the country. Currently, matters including marriage, divorce and inheritance are decided on the basis of personal laws based on religion. But after the implementation of this act, a single law will be applicable to people of all religions.
