Malaysia, as Asean chair, will seek an extension of the ceasefire announced by Myanmar's military junta to allow humanitarian efforts in the earthquake-ravaged nation, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Speaking at the Finance Ministry's monthly morning assembly on Monday (April 14), the Prime Minister said he plans to raise the matter with junta leader Min Aung Hlaing during a meeting in Bangkok on Friday (April 18), held alongside his visit to meet former Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra, now adviser on Asean affairs.
