Protesters gathered in New York’s iconic Times Square on Saturday (April 12) to demand the release of Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, who is in detention in Louisiana following his arrest by immigration authorities in New York on March 8.
A US Immigration judge ruled on Friday (April 11) that Khalil can be deported, allowing President Donald Trump's administration to proceed with its effort to remove the Columbia University student from the United States.
