The recent case involving the use of deepfake technology to fabricate and disseminate obscene images of school students is a stark reminder of the urgent need for stricter digital safety protocols in all educational institutions, says Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching.
Speaking at a press conference at the Kulai MP office on Saturday (April 12), Teo said 38 victims have been identified, with the youngest aged just 12 or 13.
Teoh, who also serves as Kulai MP, said one of the most pressing issues to be addressed was the attitude and response of schools toward such complaints.
