A sudden change in weather hit Delhi-NCR on Friday evening, bringing strong winds and thunderstorms that led to chaos across the region. One person was killed and five others injured due to storm-related incidents. In several areas, including Rajendra Nagar, trees were uprooted and electric poles collapsed, severely disrupting traffic. A major scare occurred when a tree branch and an electric pole fell simultaneously, injuring two people.Other parts of Delhi, like Sarai Rohilla and ITO, also witnessed heavy wind damage, with roads blocked due to fallen poles and trees. Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad were similarly affected by strong winds and showers, causing traffic congestion and damage to infrastructure.Meanwhile, extreme weather also impacted Himachal Pradesh. In Lahaul-Spiti, heavy snowfall has led to slippery roads, prompting advisories for tourists and locals to exercise caution. In Shimla, sudden water flow and landslides have added to the threat. The region’s apple orchards also face damage due to hailstorms.Bihar too is reeling from severe weather. Over the last three days, 80 people have died due to lightning strikes and storm-related accidents. Power supply remains disrupted in multiple districts, with alerts still active in 8 districts for further severe weather.
