US President Donald Trump reiterated his desire for the US to take over the Gaza strip, telling reporters during an Oval Office meeting with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu that it would be a “good thing.”
Trump’s proposal, which Netanyahu expressed enthusiastic support for on Monday (April 7), was put forward multiple times during the opening weeks of his administration and has been globally condemned as a proposal for ethnic cleansing.
