The unveiling of a public artwork in commemoration of Friar Seamus Hegarty was unveiled at Fr Hegarty's Rock in Buncrana on April 4, 2025.
The statue was created by artist Rory Harron and was unveiled by His Excellency Archbishop Luis Mariano Montemayor, Papal Nuncio and Min. Charlie McConalogue with Bishop of Derry Donal McKeown, Fr Francis Bradley PP. Cathoirleach Colr Jack Murray and Fr Damien Polly, OP Dominican Friar with the local community in attendance.
