New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced Thursday that he will run for reelection as an independent, according to CNBC.  Adams said he is running for mayor in the general election to provide independent leadership prioritizing working New Yorkers over politics or party. Adams is skipping the Democratic primary just one day after a federal judge dismissed bribery and wire fraud charges against him. Nine Democrats, including former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, remain in the race.
