The Twin Cities has begun to experience a rainy wintry mix that could bring a minor accumulation of slush.

The rain-snow mix will linger through the evening, along with potential freezing rain that could trouble early morning commuters.

Meanwhile, a winter storm warning is in place for northern regions, which could see 10+ inches of accumulation. A winter weather advisory is in place for parts of central and northwestern Minnesota, where 2–3 inches of snow and some icing is possible.

Once temperatures slowly rise after midnight, the mix will transition to rain.
