Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir continue a large-scale search operation in Kathua’s Bilawar area after an intense encounter with terrorists. The operation began on March 24 in Sanyal village, where intelligence reports indicated the presence of five terrorists. Following this, an encounter took place in Kathua’s Sufen area on March 27-28, where two terrorists were killed. However, the operation came at a heavy cost, as four Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel lost their lives in the line of duty. The search operation intensified in the Panch Teerthi area, where security forces suspect three terrorists are still hiding. On the night of March 31, gunfire erupted between security forces and militants. The entire region has been cordoned off, and a joint team of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF is actively searching the dense forests and hilly terrain, which provide natural hiding spots for terrorists. Reports suggest that the remaining terrorists are part of the same group sighted in Hiranagar, approximately 40 km away. Authorities have assured that the situation is under control, and efforts are underway to neutralize the threat. The operation remains ongoing as security forces continue their vigilance.
