More bodies pulled from collapsed Bangkok building as death toll hits at least 18
More bodies were pulled from the rubble of a collapsed building in Bangkok on Sunday, March 30, bringing the death toll in the city to 18 as of 3 p.m. (GMT 0800), according to officials at the site as rescuers raced against time under sweltering humidity and intermittent rain to find survivors.
Of the 18 dead in the Thai capital, 11 were from the site of the collapsed under-construction building and seven were from other parts of the city according to officials, who said 76 people are still missing beneath the collapsed construction site as of 3 p.m. (GMT 0800).
Heavy machinery was seen drilling and cutting through debris and the building’s structure more extensively than the day before, as a team from the US military arrived at the site.
