Abbas’ advisor endorses use of terror – “self-defense by all possible means” - at right “time and place”
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash: “Resistance (i.e., including terror) is a legitimate right of the Palestinian people. Its manners are determined according to the circumstances and abilities, and we must choose the time and place that suits each type of resistance. The Palestinian resistance has not ceased for over a century, but its manners are determined according to our conditions, our strategy, and our national interests... What we need to be cautious about is providing the occupation with free excuses that it will use to market its aggression against us. It is our right to defend ourselves by all possible means (i.e., including terror), but in a way that will serve our interests and preserve our existence.”

Mahmoud Al-Habbash also serves as PA Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice.
The terms "all means,” “all means of resistance,” “all forms,” are used by PA leaders to include using all types of violence, including deadly terror against Israeli civilians such as car rammings, stabbings, and shootings, as well as throwing rocks and Molotov Cocktails.
