According to CNBC, Trump signed an executive order to boost U.S. production of critical minerals. The order includes the production of uranium, copper, potash, and gold and directs federal agencies to fast-track project reviews. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum will prioritize mineral production on federal lands and determine whether to include coal. Trump also plans to use the Defense Production Act to support development, mirroring Biden’s 2022 move. The International Development Finance Corporation will fund new projects in partnership with the Defense Department.
