21st Ramzan marks the martyrdom (Shahadat) of Imam Ali (A.S), the first Imam of Islam and the rightful successor of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was fatally wounded on the 19th of Ramzan, 40 AH, while offering Fajr prayers in Masjid-e-Kufa by the sword of Ibn Muljam (LA). After two days of suffering, he embraced martyrdom on the 21st of Ramzan.
