A federal judge ordered the reinstatement of U.S. Agency for International Development systems, according to NBC News. Judge Theodore D. Chuang ruled that the agency’s abrupt shutdown under Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency likely violated the Constitution. Chuang directed DOGE to restore access to email, payments, security notifications, and other systems for all USAID employees and contractors. He also barred DOGE and Musk from taking further action against USAID without legal authorization. He mandated that USAID be able to reoccupy its headquarters if the final ruling favors the plaintiffs.
