Alain Bashung (Parigi, 1º dicembre 1947 – Parigi, 14 marzo 2009) è stato un cantautore e attore francese. È diventato una figura importante della canzone e del rock francese a partire dall'inizio degli anni ottanta e ha influenzato molti cantanti della nuova scena francese.Registra una dozzina di singoli, uno dei quali con lo pseudonimo di David Bergen, e due (1971-1972) con quello di Hendrick Darmen compositore e interprete del gruppo Monkey Bizness. Compone anche qualche canzone per divi dell'epoca, come Noël Deschamps, ma non raggiunge il successo.Nel 1973, interpreta Robespierre nella commedia musicale La Révolution française di Claude-Michel Schönberg.Dopo oltre un anno di malattia e molto indebolito, Alain Bashung muore il 14 marzo 2009 presso l'ospedale Saint-Joseph di Parigi, all'età di 61 anni.Il 20 marzo, la sua salma viene inumata presso il cimitero di Père-Lachaise, dopo una messa tenuta presso l'Abbazia di Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Alain Bashung (Paris, 1 December 1947 – Paris, 14 March 2009) was a French singer-songwriter and actor. He became an important figure in French song and rock from the beginning of the 1980s and influenced many singers of the new French scene. He recorded a dozen singles, one under the pseudonym of David Bergen, and two (1971-1972) under that of Hendrick Darmen composer and performer of the group Monkey Bizness. He also composed a few songs for stars of the time, such as Noël Deschamps, but did not achieve success. In 1973, he played Robespierre in the musical comedy La Révolution française by Claude-Michel Schönberg. After more than a year of illness and very weakened, Alain Bashung died on March 14, 2009 at the Saint-Joseph hospital in Paris, at the age of 61. On March 20, his body was buried at the Père-Lachaise cemetery, after a mass held at the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
