Nurses have been working over 45 hours a week even before the official implementation of the 45-hour workweek, says Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni.
Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (March 6), he explained that previous work hours did not account for break times or the additional time spent on unofficial patient handovers.
Lukanisman added that the Health Ministry aims to align the planned 45-hour workweek with the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) to find the best possible solution for nurses.
