Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon told CNBC that the latest modem will significantly outperform Apple's newly launched modem. Amon highlighted that Qualcomm's X85 integrates AI to enhance signal performance, creating a "huge delta" between premium Android and iOS devices. Apple previously relied on Qualcomm for modems but began developing its own after acquiring Intel’s modem business in 2019. Reports suggest Apple is developing modems for higher-end models, but Amon reiterated that Qualcomm does not expect to supply Apple beyond 2026.
