Last night, the Mavericks had their first matchup against Luka Dončić as a Laker. Dončić seemed to be in control with a 19-point triple-double in the Lakers' big win. Kyrie Irving came to play, while P.J. Washington was nowhere to be found. Irving also discussed the emotions he felt playing against his former teammate. And finally, analyst Marc Spears shared the real reason Luka was traded, claiming it was his matchup against Jaylen Brown in the Finals. Apparently, that was enough for the Mavs to realize Luka isn't their franchise guy. "He shut him down in the Finals, what Brown did to Luka, those are the factors that led Dallas to question Luka as the leader of the team and whether he was in shape or not." RJ didn't agree; he argued that blaming Jaylen Brown is just one of the many excuses thrown out, and Mavs fans deserve the truth.
