A section of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel in Nagarkurnool district, Telangana, collapsed on February 22, 2025, trapping eight workers. Despite continuous rescue operations involving over 600 personnel from multiple agencies, the workers remain unlocated after more than 72 hours. Challenges such as slush, water seepage, and structural instability hinder progress. Experts from the Geological Survey of India (GSI) and the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) have been consulted to assess the situation.
