The U.S. abstained from a UN General Assembly vote on its own resolution marking the third anniversary of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, after amendments were added by European states. These changes referenced Russia's full-scale attack and emphasized a just and lasting peace in line with the UN Charter while reaffirming support for Ukraine’s sovereignty. The amended resolution passed with 93 votes in favor, 73 abstentions, and eight against. A separate resolution by Ukraine and European allies also passed with 93 votes in favor, 65 abstentions, and 18 against.
