Hundreds of amateur artists copy collection of Paris museum in large-scale performance

Hundreds of amateur artists take on the challenge of reproducing 1,300 artworks of the Pompidou Museum on Feb. 21, 2025 over a period of three days. Armed with white canvases and pencils, the 500 volunteers were let loose in the rooms of the museum to copy the artworks 'to make sure that, before closing the doors of the museum, visitors could leave with a little piece of the museum,” said Selma Toprak-Denisthe, the Centre Pompidou's deputy director.
