Zandy Willems, age 55, of Allen, Texas, passed away on Saturday night, 03 September 2022, as a result of a fatal crash during the opening lap of the Ultra4 USA 4400 class race, the final event of the day at Crandon International Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin.
The race, which was red flagged after the fatal accident before being cancelled entirely, was part of the sixth and final round of the 2022 Amsoil Championship Off-Road.
Zandy Willems raced for team Rufus Racing, which he had founded in 2018 when he bought his first race car and quickly became a well-known racer in the Ultra4 and off-road racing world.
