'Humanitarian pause' talks up in Jerusalem
British Foreign Minister David Cameron and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discuss a ‘humanitarian pause’ in Jerusalem. Cameron sees it as a chance to free hostages and deliver aid to Gaza. This comes before a four-day truce between Israel and Hamas, where 50 hostages will be released for 150 Palestinian prisoners. Hamas kidnapped 240 people in an October 7 attack on Israel, resulting in 1,200 deaths. Israel's response, an air and ground campaign, has caused over 14,800 deaths in Gaza, as per Hamas-run health ministry.
