An experienced motocross rider Rodrigo Pereira Domingues, 34-year-old, died after suffering an accident during a state championship race on Sunday, 14 June 2015 afternoon in Guareí, state of São Paulo, Brazil.
The rider became unbalanced during a maneuver in the air, lost control of his bike and crashed. An ambulance crew on duty at the track rushed him to the city hospital where he was listed in serious condition. Later Rodrigo Pereira Domingues was transferred to the Itapetininga Regional Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries several hours after admission.
The race, conducted by the Federação de Motociclismo do Estado de São Paulo (FMESP) in partnership with the Prefeitura de Guareí, was interrupted shortly after Pereira Domingues' accident. The event was the season opening round of the Campeonato Paulista de Motocross (São Paulo State Motocross Championship) and had the participation of 200 riders. More than 3,000 spectators attended the races.
Rodrigo Pereira Domingues lived in Pilar do Sul, state of São Paulo, Brazil, working as a bank clerk. He left behind his wife and two children of 1 and 5 years.
