Victorian premier pulls plug on 2026 Commonwealth Games after cost estimates blow out by billions

"Six to seven billion dollars is too much for a 12-day sporting event," Premier Dan Andrews told the media after revealing the 2026 Commonwealth Games cost estimates had increased from $2billion.
