The Supreme Court has set aside the indefinite suspension of 12 BJP MLAs from the Maharashtra Assembly, calling it "unconstitutional and arbitrary". In July 2021, Maharashtra assembly speaker in-chair, Bhaskar Jadhav, suspended 12 BJP MLAs for a year for unruly behaviour amid a ruckus in the House.
