After attending Congress Working Committee's meeting on May 10, Congress leader KC Venugopal, during a virtual video conferencing, said, “ The second wave of Covid-19 is nothing sort of a great calamity and direct consequence of Modi Govt's insensitivity and incompetence. It is a direct result of government's wilful disregard of scientific advice, its premature declaration of victory over pandemic... and its unwillingness and inability to plan in advance in spite of warnings sounded not only by public health experts but also by the standing committee of parliament concerned.”
