松平郷は、三河国の戦国大名から江戸幕府の将軍家へと発展する松平氏・徳川氏の発祥地の郷です。松平郷園地のトンボ池では、開園時にミズバショウが植栽されており、毎年可憐な姿を見せています。白い花のように見えるのは、実は葉が白く変化したもので「ぶつえんほう」と呼ばれ、実際の花はその中心にある緑色で棒状のもので、小さな花が集まって出来ています。
