On 16th December, every year, the parents of the girl commonly known as 'Nirbhaya', hold an event to remember their lost child, and try to bring together people to discuss how such crimes can be prevented. In 2017, the student wing of the RSS - ABVP, who have used this issue for pushing their brand of politics, disrupted this event. Their violent behaviour is in line with the many occasions where they have done similar things - with complete disregard and disrespect for people and their causes.
