These locals were hanging around a popular natural pool in Maui when one of them decided to jump off a 30 ft rock into the tide pool. One of them suddenly heard water rushing upstream and alerted others. They saw the river upstream jumping madly. They quickly moved away from that area, asking others in the pool to climb out as well. In a matter of a few seconds, water gushed in dangerously into the pool filling it. Thankfully, no one got caught in the threatening water tide.
