Three years ago Uber gave riders the ability to play music during their ride and now Lyft appears to be doing the same. According to Business Insider, the company filed a patent for a “drivers jukebox” system. This system would allow riders to play music through the driver’s phone and car speakers. The patent application is a continuation of a patent Lyfy previously applied for in 2015. Uber has a similar system already in use since 2016 that connect with Spotify or Pandora.
