But Leonardo Jardim's side still lost 2-0 to Nice, as the Principality club finished two points above the relegation play-off spot.
The win gave Nice a third straight home success against the 2017 champions, a result which meant they finished seventh in the table in Patrick Vieira's first season in charge.
