After a relatively dry spell, the city can look forward to at least a week of rain from Friday. The Met department has
predicted fairly widespread rainfall over northwest and east India in the coming days due to a cyclonic circulation that
has formed over the Bay of Bengal.
"A long spell of rain, lasting for a week to 10 days, is expected over northwest and east India. While this does not mean
that it will definitely rain on all days, more regular and intense rainfall over a large area can be expected. It will be
marked by typical monsoon circulation and wind," said BP Yadav, director, IMD.
