Speaking at forum at the National Assembly on Tuesday,... Joel Wit, the founder of 38 North, said,... the denuclearization of North Korea will be a long, difficult process and called for a phase-by-phase procedure.
He said,.... Washington and Seoul should be able to accept that it will take North Korea a long time to give up its most threatening missiles.... as they are considered cushions to the regime's security.
Given such circumstances,... Wit called on the two sides to hold immediate discussions once they reach a deal... so that they don't repeat their mistakes that led to the slowed progress after the Singapore summit.
