Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati, who was the 69th pontiff of the Kanchi Mutt in Tamil Nadu, passed away at the age of 82 on Wednesday. Kanchi Mutt head Jayendra Saraswathi was admitted to a private hospital in Porur area of Chennai since he was not keeping well. He was admitted to the hospital in January. According to reports, the pontiff was diagnosed with low sugar level as he was facing breathing problems. But following his treatment, the pontiff was discharged later.
