VTR: What is the place of deja vu in Islam?
ADNAN OKTAR: Deja vu is the recollection of destiny. I experienced two cases of deja vu. But one of them was extremely vivid. In one of my experiences I was visiting Boğaziçi University for the first time and I remembered having seen the building before. But the other experience was a major and vivid one. There was a mosque right next to our house. A friend invited me there saying, "Let’s pay a visit to some dear friends there." I remember very clearly that we made a steep, long ascent on the stairs leading to the mosque -one would never anticipate it. I recalled having a discussion there. I even remembered the corner where the discussion had taken place as I recalled. And the group that wanted to talk to us was standing in that exact corner. We headed towards the corner, where the group immediately engaged us in a discussion. I was astounded, because here lies an incredible detail. Both the corner and the discussion were exactly as I remembered them. This is the part where I had the deja vu; the rest was vague and inconsequential. As for the deja vu I had in Boğaziçi university, I could say that it was somewhere between vivid and vague. But the other one was extremely vivid. The building, the yard, the whole place felt quite familiar. Deja vu is the recollection of destiny.
