VTR: People have a hard time making ends meet, engaged in an ongoing struggle with rents, bills etc. What can be done to alleviate this issue?
ADNAN OKTAR: Economic crisis has been an issue for centuries. Only the era of our Prophet (saas) saw a period of prosperity. Shortly after the death of our Prophet (saas), poverty once again reared its ugly head. In the era of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh), people were living in poverty as well, except for a community consisting of the Prophet Jesus' (pbuh) students who put all their possessions together and achieved a life of comfort. But that, too, did not last long. Almost all nations have been poor for centuries. This is the work of a group specifically assigned by God for this purpose. They do this under the guidance of God. God states in the Qur'an that economic crisis, that is, poverty is brought about specifically. Its aim is to draw people closer to God. God says, "Otherwise, I would have adorned your houses with silver roofs and stairways. Everything you have would be made of gold or silver. But that would only achieve making you become rebellious, make you rebel against Me." God says that He keeps mankind under control by means of poverty so that they do not rebel against Him. Because prosperity is peculiar to heaven. There are angels exclusively in charge of economic crises, Mikael (pbuh) being the most prominent of them as an archangel. But as a cause, Khidr (pbuh) and a community at his command are in charge of its implementation on earth. In other words, there is a technical team whose duty is to ensure a certain level of societal prosperity. The Jews constitute a part of this team. It is an exclusive group. In fact, the Qur'an also points out this fact. "A group from among Jews who upholds justice and is fair in its endeavors," says God in the Qur'an. It is a distinct community who strives to uphold justice. This group is also in close affiliation with Khidr's (pbuh) team.
