Syrian Arab Army (SAA) forces and their allies made gains in Palmyra’s eastern countryside on Saturday, reportedly liberating several hilltops overlooking the Arak Gas Fields from ISIS.
Thousands of SAA and Hezbollah reinforcements arrived in the Palmyra countryside recently to aid the push to lift the siege on the Deir ez-Zor Governorate. The main assault will consist of attacking the ISIS stronghold of Sukhanah located along the road to the Deir ez-Zor Governorate.
