SPRING, TEXAS — A family man from Texas is trying to clear his name after he was arrested for discharging a firearm at two masked kidnappers last Friday.
Cops accused Jeremiah Morin, 35, of discharging indiscriminately outside his home when the men grabbed his fiancee Angela Estrada as she was getting her kids out of the car.
Morin was in the garage when he heard the commotion and came out firing his weapon. He kept discharging and then chased the would-be kidnappers down the street, ABC affiliate KTRK reported.
Morin was later arrested. The cops accused him of being a gang member and searched his house for non-state sanctioned pharmaceutical products.
Two guns were seized and Morin was charged with third-degree felony deadly conduct. He was released the next day when a judge found no justification for the charges.
Morin admitted he did jail time on a non-state sanctioned pharmaceutical product charge 10 years ago, but said he has turned his life around.
Now he’s mightily upset that the cops focused their attention on him rather than on the kidnappers, who still haven’t been caught.
