To accomplish this scientist placed a satellite into geosynchronous orbit of the earth. From where this satellite could broadcast the TV signals thousands of kilometers away from the direct line of sight.
Now everyone can watch same TV programs all over the world, thanks to the network of satellites in space.
This way entire satellite TV system came into existence.
