A woman in the city of Pingxiang in east China's Jiangxi Province on Saturday was finally reunited with all six people who saved the lives of herself and her children after her car crashed into a reservoir a week ago.

Hong Binglan, a resident in Pingxiang City, was about to drive her three children home from the bank of the reservoir around 10:40 on July 30. As recorded on a nearby surveillance video, the car suddenly began to move and crashed into a reservoir, ten meters away from the bank.

Lin Faping, a local resident who owns a hotel nearby, jumped into the water to rescue the family together with his two nephews. Later, Lin's brother and another nephew also joined the rescue efforts.

"I used a stone to open the door of the car, but I failed. Then my nephew managed to open the rear door and we tried to save the people in the back of the car. My brother was trying to save the two people on the front seats," said Lin.

Local residents and people passing by threw life buoys into the water to help.

Hong and her children were taken back to the shore after ten minutes. Hong suffered from a bone fracture due to the fall from the bank, while her three children were left uninjured.

The surveillance video shows passerby also jumping into water to help. Local media traced the man - a 53-year-old local resident.

"I can swim. I just wanted to offer my hand when I could. It was an instinct. I did not think much," said Yi.

"We were so lucky to have met them. I really appreciate them. I can't express how grateful I am," said Hong, who is now in hospital for treatment.
